NIE Programme

We have started with  NIE programme since 2008. Although there are some problems in the early stage but we manage to handle it as we have come up with new strategies.  Selected students have been asked to distribute the Newspapers to English teachers of the class involved.  Not all classes are involved in this programme.  We select the first 4 classes for form 5, first 3 classes for form 4, first five classes for form 3, 2 and 1.  Minda and Skor that students received will be used in the lesson. It is a good activity and students do enjoy the activity.

Nilam's Programme

Nilam's Programme is an interesting activity for students . In SMKDS students use their first lesson that they have either BM or English to do this activity.  As for English teachers, we ask our student to read either novel or short stories during this programme.  This programme is a combination of the DEAR programme (Drop Everything And Read).  It has been done successfully and we can see that students try to adapt with this activity.
